Groudle Glen Limited | Groudle Old Road | Onchan | Isle of Man | IM3 2HZ

How to Find Us

The cottages are set in a beautiful hillside location, overlooking a picturesque wooded glen that boasts its own miniature steam railway. Beyond the glen the cottages are privy to panoramic views, both inland and out to sea, and yet are located just three miles from the Island's capital, Douglas, where you will find plenty of amenities.

The bus and electric tram stops for services to Douglas, Laxey and further afield are just across the road from the cottages. The timetables are available in Reception.

Arriving by ferry

  1. From the sea terminal, drivers should negoatiate the roundabout at Bath Place and head for the sea front promenade.

  2. Heading north, stay on the promenade, the A11, and carry on through Onchan along the same route.

  3. The road continues to hug the coast and the entrance to Groudle Glen Cottages will be seen on the right after a journey totalling around 10-15 minutes and covering 4.5 miles.

Arriving by plane

  1. Drivers should leave Isle of Man Airport and, at the roundabout, head north on the A5 through Ballasalla and Santon, negotiating three roundabouts on the way to the Quarter Bridge junction in Douglas.

  2. Here, turn right at the first roundabout but make sure to stay in the left-hand lane as you wish to bear left, using the first exit on the second roundabout, on to the A2. Follow this route for 2.5 miles past the TT Grandstand and into the village of Onchan, passing through a roundabout and set of traffic lights before turning right, on to the B31, down Church Road.

  3. Bearing left at the stop sign on to Groundle Road, you will then find yourself passing a golf course on your right before meeting King Edward Road, the A11 — the entrance to Groudle Glen Cottages will be seen to your left, just across the road.
